As we begin the New Year of 2017 I wish to encourage you to be planful in the ways you make New Year’s Resolution and set goals. Take a moment to meditate on Wesley’s Covenant Prayer. Consider the following questions on how God has blessed and directed your life in 2016. Know that God has already prepared for your 2017. Use these questions to write down and post your resolutions, goals and covenants to motivate you in the year ahead.
I am no longer my own, but yours.
Put me to what you will, rank me with whom you will;
put me to doing, put me to suffering;
let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you,
exalted for you, or brought low for you;
let me be full; let me be empty,
let me have all things; let me have nothing.
I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things
to your pleasure and disposal.
And now, glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
you are mine and I am yours. So be it.
And the covenant now made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven.
Amen.
What was the BEST THING that happened this year?
What accomplishment are you MOST PROUD?
When did you have the MOST FUN?
What goals did you ACCOMPLISH this year?
Were there things you WANTED TO DO but didn’t?
What are the things that WENT WELL?
What are the things that could be IMPROVED?
What are your BIGGEST LESSONS from last year?
Peace and Blessings,
Rev. Jay Moyers
